Home >> FF8 >>Ultima and Omega Weapons - Final Fantasy VIII Ultima and Omega Weapons - Final Fantasy VIII Written By : Bahamut Zero INDEX: - Ultima Weapon - Omega Weapon ULTIMA WEAPON You'll find this powerful boss protecting the very core of the Deep Sea Research lab, but only after fighting and having obtained Bahamut as a Summon, of course. Stats:
Prepare to battle: Before daring the decent of the laboratory island, make sure Squall has his Gunblade mastered to the final model Lionheart, as it will be crucial for a safe victory. With this weapon in hand, Squall may perform his ultimate Renzokuken skill, the Lion Heart, that is capable of dealing (with a high STRENGTH value, about 200) 9999 hp of damage repeated 20 times. If you have Laguna and/or Gilgamesh's cards, change them into 100 Hero drinks and 10 holy Wars respectively, items that will definitely come useful. While inserting the command abilitiues for your party, you may want to sacrifice the GF command, as support abilities like Recover and Revive (from GFs Alexander and Leviathan) will be extremely important and as it may be useful to draw a lot of Ultima spells for the characters that do not have 100 of them yet. Do not forget tyo activate an item command on someone too, you never know. You are now ready to fight. Strategy: Ultima Weapon does not have any particularly nasty attacks, as long as your levels and statistics are reasonably high. Be careful, though, against Lihid Zoil, a move that unavoidably kills a party member dealing 9999 damage. Revive the character immediately, or the Weapon will kill another one immediately: Autohaste may be a good way to overcome its Speed. Cast meltdown until Ultima gets into Zero DEF status: this will enhance your Renzokuken's effectiveness. Try to have a perfect Triggering, and the chances of performing Lion Heart will increase. Should Squall die, revive him with Reiz or a Phoenix Down: having low HP means being able to use the Limit Break every turn. Do not forget to Draw the Eden GF at the beginning of the battle; and, if you need, take your time to draw 300 (100 with every character) Ultima spells from the boss: it is the easiest way to fill your equipment, since there are not many enemies that will allow you to do this at the low price of reviving a character once in a while. Keep in mind that you will obtain 100 ultima Stones at the end of the battle as well. OMEGA WEAPON To challenge Omega, you will have to pull the rope in the room with the staircase in ultimecia's castle. This will activate a one minute timer, within which you will have to reach the Organ chamber near the coutyard. If you leave the party yuo want to fight Omega with nnear the fountain, switch to the other group that will pull the rope and switch again to the strongest party, you will have all the time you need. Stats:
Preparre to battle: The same for Ultima Weapon: Revive, Recover, Items, AutoHaste, having high stats, having Lionheart, Holy Wars and Hero Drinks. Strategy: For Omega goes the same strategy used for Ultima, more or less: pay attention, tough, to Level 5 Death, wich will be nasty if your characters are at level 100 (or a multiple of 5, in any case). To overcome being blown away by such a disappointing skill, try restarting the battle until you get the first turn to use immediately a Holy War to become (hopefully) invincible for a little while. Use a Megalixir whenever needed to full cure all the party, but use squall to do so only if it's extremely necessary: he must keep pounding Omega with his Renzokuken all the time. The only way to avoid being destroyed by Megid Flame or Terra Break is to be Invicible or in GF Summoning status, as the sum of your character's HP and the GF's HP should be higher that the massive damage caused by omega, allowing you to survive the chaos. If you should win the battle, you will receive a medal for beating the strongest of all bosses of Ultimecia's Castle  [1] |
